RawHyde Adventures is headed east, that's right; we're coming all the way from California across the Big Muddy River and setting up camp in Pennsylvania.


Please join us this September 23rd -26th, 2010, as we put together one of the most unique adventure rides you've ever done. You'll be going "underground" on your motorcycle, that's right we're talking "moto - spelunking"!

The BMW Xplor Mines and Meadows Rally will be held in the beautiful wooded hills of Wampum, Pennsylvania, just 45 minutes north of Pittsburg.

So what's the real story with the "moto – spelunking" comment? The "Mines and Meadows Park" is actually one of the most unique OHV areas in North America. It's actually a designated Off Highway Vehicle area with a twist. The twist is the ability to take your bike "off road and underground".

Image the thrill of riding your adventure bike through an abandoned, underground limestone mine with only your headlight showing you the way. This is a ride you'll never forget. With underground lakes and streams, huge cavernous rooms, and the history of the mine, you'll come away with a sense of having done something truly unique.

If riding underground in an abandoned mine wasn't enough, there will be lots of other things to do at the rally.

You will have the chance to ride some classic eastern woods trails; where you will need to use all your slow speed skills. Woods riding is an art all unto its own, but getting deep into the back woods also makes for a great adventure. There will be a lot of time to just "hang out" too, campfires at night, great food, the "Dakar Bar" will be in full swing in the evenings and the rally also is a great place to just share the experience of owning a BMW GS. There will be a couple of hundred other riders with whom you all have something in common – The GS.

We mentioned food above, but since RawHyde is actually orchestrating the event, we put a focus on food. We have a reputation for great food and our Cordon Bleu chefs will have your mouth watering with tasty hors d'oeuvres, and classic hot and filling camp food. In the evening we'll sit around the fire, enjoy a beverage or two, and relive the days riding. Scotch and cigars anyone?

Since we'll be camping under the stars, make sure to bring your tent and sleeping bag. If you are not into tenting, the good folks at Mines and Meadows also operate an RV park right on the premises, so bring the camper, bring the motor home, bring the toy box, we'll have plenty of room for whatever you wish to bring as well as all your equipment.

Schedule for the Mines and Meadows Rally

Thursday September 23rd
3:00 – 5:00pm -	Event registration and sign up for underground mine tour.
6:00pm -	Dakar Bar opens
7:00pm -	Welcome and orientation
7:30pm -	Dinner will be served- Chile Bowls with Salad and cheesecake for dessert.
8:30pm -	Ride and GPS track briefing by the RawHyde Team.
9:00pm -	Fireside Camaraderie
Friday September 24th
6:00am -	Coffee in the mess tent
7:30 - 8:30am -	breakfast - French Toast, Sausage, Fruit, Juice
8:30am -	lecture and clinic for off road "newbies" to provide some basic techniques so you can enjoy the event a little more.
9:00am -	Guided underground mine rides begin – our guide will meet us at the firepit every hour on the hour.
9:00am - 5:00pm -	Today is "playtime" in the park. Each rally guest will have a wrist band entitling them to ride in the park. There are over 70 miles of trails in the park to explore. We are staying in the park today so that everyone will be near for their "guided tour" through the mine. RawHyde will be hosting a series of clinics during the day at various places around the park.
9:15am - 11am -	guided tour around Mines and Meadows illustrating correct "off road riding techniques" for novices.
11am - 11:30am -	there will be a clinic on effective braking in the dirt. (newbies to intermediate riders)
12:00 – 2:00pm -	Lunch will be served at "camp" for 2 hours so you can explore the park at your leisure and return for lunch whenever you wish. Lunch will be a Burrito Bar with all the fixin's.
6:00pm -	The Dakar Bar opens
7:30pm -	Dinner will be served. Pasta Bar, Caesar Salad, Sausage, Meatballs and Salad with brownies for dessert.
8:30pm -	RawHyde Presentation of riding the Dakar Rally, movie and slideshow.
Saturday September 25th
6:00am -	Coffee in the mess tent
7:30am - 8:30am -	Breakfast is served: Eggs, Ham, Hash Brown Patty's, Fruit, Juice
8:30am -	Lecture and clinic on effective cornering in the dirt
9:00am -	Local Area rides begin. Meet at the firepit to form riding groups.
12:00 – 2:00pm -	Lunch will be served at "camp" from Noon to 2 PM so you can explore the area at your leisure and return for lunch whenever you wish. Most of the local rides are half day rides which will enable you to return to camp for lunch. Lunch will be a Burger Bar, Potato Salad, Watermelon, Trail Mix
6:00pm -	The Dakar Bar opens
7:30pm -	Dinner will be served. Grilled Steaks, "Dirty" Garlic mashed potatoes, Grilled Veggies with Carrot cake for dessert.
After dinner -	Presentation of the Continental Divide Ride – Americas Ultimate Adventure.
Sunday September 26th
6:00am -	Coffee will be available in mess tent.
7:00am -	Continental breakfast- Bagels, Cream cheese, cantaloupe, Cereal, Fruit etc.
8:00am -	Depart for home at your leisure.
